RWANDA will send three players to the 36th edition of the Africa Junior Tennis Championships that will be jointly held at the Nairobi Club and Public Service Club from March 12-23.The Rwanda Tennis Federation’s technical director Fidel Bayama confirmed the development on Thursday, saying, "We are sending three players for the tournament and the plans to is to travel early enough so that they get used to the courts, and we believe they will stage good performances.”Ernest Habiyambere, David Uwimana and Olivier Tuyisenge will compete in the Under-16 category and will head to Nairobi on March 10 in preparation for the warm up matches. The team will be coached by Jean Pierre Nshimiyimana.The warm-up tournament begins on March 12 through 17 before the main Africa junior championships from March 18 to 23.The organisers are expecting 123 players and over 50 coaches to participate in the championship, representing 27 countries. The zones that took part in the qualification tournament include; Central West Africa, Southern Africa, Northern Africa and East African. The event will involve players in the category of under 16 years and under 14 years for both girls and boys.Among other countries expected to take part will be Algeria, Benin, Botswana, Burundi, Cameroon, Cote D’ivoire, Egypt, Ethiopia, Gabon, Ghana, Lesotho, Morroco, Nigeria, Tanzania and Zimbabwe.
