President Paul Kagame, yesterday, reshuffled his Cabinet bringing on new entrants, as well as creating new portfolios.Amb. Claver Gatete and John Rwangombwa switched positions with the former taking over as Minister of Finance and the latter appointed head of the Central Bank. Other new faces on Cabinet include Prof. Silas Lwakabamba (Infrastructure), Séraphine Mukantabana (Refugees and Disaster Management), and Oda Gasinzigwa as Minister of Family and Gender Promotion in the Office of the Prime Minister.Lwakabamba was the rector of the National University of Rwanda, while Gasinzigwa has been the Chief Gender Monitor.Three new Ministers of State portfolios have been created, with Dr Anita Asiimwe as Health State minister in-charge of Public Health and Primary Healthcare. Former Infrastructure minister Albert Nsengiyumva reverts to State in the Ministry of Education (Technical and Vocational Education and Training), while Evode Imena is now the Minister of State in the Ministry of Natural Resources in-charge of Mining.The new Cabinet is scheduled to swear-in today at the Parliament in Kimihurura.
