The national beach volleyball team traveled to the Burundian capital Bujumbura on Friday to compete in a five-nation tournament.The two-day tournament is being organised by the Burundi Beach Volleyball Federation to celebrate 20 years since the sport was first introduced to the country. The invited teams include Rwanda, Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. Rwanda will be represented by four teams, two in both men and women categories. One team is made up of Charlotte Nzayisenga and Denyse Mutastimpundu, who won last year’s Africa Junior beach championship in Togo and the other comprise Claudine Musanabageni and Drocella Muhawenimana.In men’s category, Flavien Ndamukunda and Jean Luc Mbonyuwontuma ‘Kizungu’ form one team, while Pierre Marshall Kwizera and Emile Karera ‘Dada’ make up the other.According to the Rwanda Volleyball Federation technical director Christian Hatumimana, the teams traveled to Bujumbura by road. The draw will be made on Saturday morning before the tournament kicks off at Beach Saga Plage.
