Some have to go to the cinema to watch the latest movies, others, download them for days depending on the quality. I however, got the chance to watch the most recent movies on a personalised Tv screen on KLM Royal Dutch Airlines while heading to Mexico. After the hype that came with the movie Ted, I put it on my must watch list. In all honesty, a talking teddy bear is just adorable but when it started smoking weed, drinking beer and using foul language, I decided it was a movie not even fit for my 16-year-old cousin. The 2012 American fantasy comedy film directed, co-produced and co-written by Seth MacFarlane is the story about a childhood wish made on Christmas Eve by John Bennett for his teddy bear, Ted to come to life. Indeed Ted comes to life. But their friendship is tested when Lori (Mila Kunis), John (Mark Wahlberg)’s girlfriend of four years, wants more from their relationship. When Lori decides to leave John because he cannot let go of Ted, John is broken and confronts Ted, telling him to leave him alone. Ted and John confront each other about their ruined friendship in John’s hotel room and have a brawl after John provokes Ted, but they soon reconcile after the TV falls on John’s crotch. As a way of reuniting John with Lori, Ted arranges through Norah Jones for John to express his love for Lori with a song during a concert that was held at the Hatch Shell. Although John’s performance is embarrassing, Lori is moved by the performance. Ted goes to visit Lori and explains that he was responsible for John’s misbehavior and promised to give both of them space but disaster occurs.
