The family of Fidèle Erwin Kalimba has dismissed media reports that he is missing. Auxille Rangira, a brother to Kalimba, said in an interview yesterday that he left about two weeks ago to seek greener pastures in another country. "He left home saying he has gone searching for a living abroad,” Rangira said. Though Rangira did not specify his brother’s destination, it is widely believed that he went to join his wife who is in Europe. The wife Immaculée Uwizeye Kansime is the secretary general to PS-Imberakuri. The Police picked interest after hearing repeatedly over the radio and social media platforms that Kalimba had gone missing. "We immediately started investigations on the missing person, only to reach the family and discover that he had travelled for personal reasons,” Police Spokesperson Theos Badege said. The Police has previously had to deal with cases of faked reports of missing persons or staged kidnaps. While the Police Spokesperson urged the public to always report cases of missing persons, he cautioned against intentionally reporting false cases.
