Police in Gasabo district have arrested a 28-year-old man for allegedly killing his wife. The suspect, a resident of Butare cell in Nduba sector, reportedly hacked his wife to death after the victim accused him of infidelity, authorities said.Police said the incident took place last week.Godfrey Karamuzi, the sector executive secretary, said the incident happened after the victim, who had previously abandoned her husband over the same infidelity issue, returned.On the fateful day, the victim allegedly accused the husband of being a habitual adulterer, and threatened to leave again if he did not stop the habit.This, according to Karamuzi, drove the suspect into a fit of rage.The body of the deceased was taken to the University Teaching Hospital of Kigali, while the suspect is currently in custody at Gisozi Police Station.The deceased is also said to have repeatedly accused her husband of neglect.Superintendent Albert N. Gakara, the Central Region Police Spokesperson, urged the public to always value human life and seek justice from responsible authorities when such problems arise."We should all be responsible and report such domestic conflicts before they get out of hand so authorities can intervene in time,” said Supt. Gakara.
