Local Government minister James Musoni at the weekend joined students grouped into ‘governance clubs’ which were formed by Rwandan youth with an aim of promoting the country’s image through different tools, mainly the social media. Musoni challenged the students to be good ambassadors wherever they are by having the right understanding of governance system in order to tell the right story, and also be able to be good leaders for tomorrow.During the dialogue, students insisted that in order to be ambassadors of good governance they have to first transform and change themselves.Musoni asked them to embrace and support good governance principles inside and outside the country.In a subsequent interview, the minister told The New Times that they would be engaging the students at least twice a year to assess and rate their performance regarding the youth’s role in the promotion of good governance principles across the country.Grace Mushiyimana, a student at Mutara Polytechnic, said that she would rally the youth not only at her school but also in her village, towards embracing governance tools like unity and reconciliation.
