In just five years since the launch of ambitious initiatives such as Crop Intensification Programme, Rwanda has moved from being a food importer to a regional food basket, the Minister of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry, Dr Agnes Kalibata, has said. In an exclusive interview with The New Times, Kalibata said apart from food security, what Rwandan farmers are doing is to ensure they get surplus to sell.
