National University of Rwanda (NUR)’s lead at the top of Group A in the second division football league will be at stake against Nyanza tomorrow at Huye stadium, Southern Province.

NUR, who are fresh from their 3-0 win away to Rwanda Fc last weekend go into tomorrow’s game just a point ahead of second placed La Jeunesse.

If NUR fail to collect all three points and La Jeunesse defeats visiting Mukungwa, the Nyamirambo side, who have played a game less (than NUR) will go top.

The university side has 28 points from14 fixtures, one ahead of La Jeunesse. Union are third with 24 points, Stella in fourth position with 23.

Nyanza, Mukungwa, Amagaju, Sorwathe, and Rwanda Fc are fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth with 22, 21, 19, 12 and 0 points respectively.

In group B, leaders Muhanga have the chance to stretch their lead when they host Espoir. The Southern Province side has 38 points; four ahead of second placed Musanze who can also expected to win at home to Pepinier.

Intare are third with 25 points, five ahead of Zebra in fourth spot, Espoir and Etoile are tied on 19 in fifth and sixth positions.

Interforce, Yellow Stars, Pepinier and ESAE occupy the bottom three places with 14, 10 and nine points respectively.
