Today is the day of love: Valentine’s Day. According to tradition, St. Valentine was a martyr who fought for the right of lovers  to be together nearly two thousand years ago. Today we celebrate him by telling our friends, family and our special someones how much we love them. Are you dressing the part on love’s day?  Dressing for Valentine’s Day is no easy feat.  Whether you have been with a special someone for years, happily single, or anywhere in between – this is a day to show that you are a beacon of love. Night with the Ladies: Pop of RedIf you’re a single girl, there’s no better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than with your fabulous friends. For a night out on the town; maybe drinks at Republika, dinner at Sakae or sitting out at Kigali’s newest hotspot Urban, look fabulous like you don’t have a care in the world. Best way to do this? Wear a pop of red, the enduring colour of love, in your outfit. Whether you grab bright red suede shoes, a red patent purse, or dazzling red jewelry, let the world know that even though you’re single, you’ve got a lot of love. Crushing for More: Softer Feminine SideWe’ve all been there – an illustrious someone who we’re hoping to snag. Whether it’s a colleague at work, a close friend you’re hoping will be more, or a recent flirtation that’s just heating up, make sure to capture his attention. The key to dressing the part is not trying too hard. Let your personality dress you! Bringing the softer, feminine cards is the best way to go. If you have anything lace, now is the time to put it on. If you have anything white (possibly from the White Party last year?) dress it up with some pink accents like a bracelet or earrings. Long time Love: Sultry and SexyIf you’ve been settled in a relationship for quite sometime, Valentine’s Day is the time to add extra spice, and remind him why you two are so great together.  Always remember that the key to looking your best, is feeling your best. Try picking out something new; there’s a great dress selection at Elai & Levai at KCT. Dress to fit your curves, and always make sure to have a dose of sparkle. Crystal earrings or a sequin clutch are always a great decision. That’s the fashion scoop for this week. Got a thought? Trend? Style you hate? Send it my way.
