Dear editor,

I agree with what the president said during the press release on Wednesday in regard to the Catholic Church’s apology.

Archbishop Thadee Ntihinyurwa should find a way of contacting the Vatican and press for an apology on behalf of the catholic church in Rwanda.

The fact that thousands of Rwandans lost their lives in catholic churches where they were trapped, slaughtered or bulldozed down is bad enough to call any body to confess.

What was done is more than enough to tarnish the picture of the Catholic Church and the mere fact that the priests and nuns were ring leaders is abominable.

Maybe if the Pope himself apologized to Rwandans as a whole, some integrity will be seen in the Catholic Church, but until then no expectations of sincerity and reality will be credited to the Catholic Church in Rwanda.

A national apology is not enough as some of us need an international apology from the Pope himself just like he did with the Americans!
