Police lead the standings with 32 points, four points better than their rivals after 15 rounds of matches. Goran’s team, inspired by Peter Kagabo and Meddie Kagere – the pair boasting of twelve goals between them, know that victory against the defending champions will boost their chances of a challenge for the title. With a full squad, Goran said, "Our target at the moment is to push the gap at the top beyond the reach for others. Playing against the champions is never easy but I think both teams have a 50-50 chance of winning.” "Against APR, it will be a tough match but we want to take three points on Saturday, which will stretch our lead over them (APR) to seven points,” added the Serb tactician, who led Police to second place last season. The champions, who have had a fair run, will welcome back central defender Ismail Nshutiyamagara but will miss midfielder Yannick Mukunzi (suspended) and striker Farouk Ruhinda who is sick.Coach Eric Nshimiyimana will be hoping that his senior players Jean Claude Iranzi, Tumaine Ntamuhanga, Jean Baptist Mugiraneza and goalie Jean Luc Ndayishimiye will find their top form and help the team get a good result from the fixture.Nshimiyimana said, "The players know exactly what to do and we must play to our best if we are to get anything out of the game on Saturday. We need to win and close the gap on Police.”The corresponding fixture in September ended in a draw. Both teams will be using the games to rehearse for their CAF competitions next week against Burundian teams. APR take on Vital’O in the Champions League, while Police face Lydia Ludic Burundi Academic in the Confederation Cup.
