The semester started and I had already gotten comfortable, with lies of where I went and what I did during the festive season in tow. My happiness was soon short lived when rumors of the last semester’s results started spreading. I started getting those stomach pains that I used to get every time they read the last five at assembly during my time in high school. The dreadful time came when I had to go check mine online. There happened to be a laptop nearby and everyone came to check, jumping with joy shortly after. I tried to look back at what I wrote in the exam and remembered that I used one pen during the whole exam period (hardly had anything to write). Now the stomach pains almost turned into a running stomach. But I stayed put and when everyone was done, I asked some guy for his laptop then went and hid in a separate room and checked secretly. Typing in my password seemed like the longest word I’ve written on a keyboard, I kept fidgeting and pressing two buttons at a time, by now my palms were sweating like never before but finally - I don’t know if it was by chance - the password went through and the results were displayed. I couldn’t believe they were mine so I kept scrolling down. I almost ‘killed’ the poor button because of over pressing it. But that was it; I even pinched myself just to make sure it wasn’t a dream. I quickly logged out and returned the laptop. Shortly after, some cutie came celebrating how well she had passed and asked me how it all went. "You are too late, I already jumped around. My results were fantastic, I think the exams were too simple,” was my response. (Apparently I had a first class). She gave me a big hug and a kiss on the cheek, for a moment I froze and asked her to give me another – promising to help her score even higher with my ‘brilliant mind’. No sooner had we moved three steps than a boy came running. "I checked for you your results like you asked me.” I quickly interrupted him saying I had already seen them and it was kind of him but the fool went on, "Sorry about the three supplementaries you got.” The cutie looked at me with this "You ass*#^”look and in my mind I was like "the two kisses on my cheeks were quite amazing, sorry you can’t take them back.”
