Benediction Club rider Bonaventure Uwizeyimana won the 2013 the Trust Industries LTD-sponsored Circuit de l’Est cycling race on Sunday.The Team Rwanda rider dominated a strong field of top contenders that included Nathan Byukusenge, Hassan Rukundo, Abraham Ruhumuriza, among others.A key member of Team Rwanda, Uwizeyimana (pic) clocked 3h25’39’ to win the 142km one-day competition Kigali-Rusumo, which started from Amahoro Stadium and finished in Rusumo (Nyakarambi). He took home Rwf80, 000 in prize money.Hassan Rukundo was second in a time of 3h25’40’’ and walked away with Rwf70, 000. The two most experienced riders in the race, Byukusenge and Ruhumuriza were third and fourth after clocking 3h34’20’’ and 3h34’35’’ respectively.Byukusenge, same as Rukundo and Uwizeyimana are still fresh from the Tropicale Amisa Bongo race in Gabon. Emile Bintunimana came fifth clocking 3h34’36”.In the women category,  from Rwamagana to Rusumo (81.5km), Jeanne D’Arc Girubuntu was the winner in a time of 2h47’07’’’ and she received Rwf50, 000 for her effort. Beathe Ngabire was second in 2h47’15’’ and got Rwf40, 000, while Clementine Niyonsaba finished third recording 2h52’12’’ and walked away with Rwf30, 000. Jeanne Uwimana came on fourth with time of 2h52’14’’, while in the fifth was Benitha Uwamariya, who clocked 2h59’46’’.It was the first competition of the year and it attracted 40 riders, 13 of them women.
