Rwanda’s rally driver Christakis Fitidis is ready to launch another campaign in the Uganda National rally Championship season, which gets underway on February 8 with the Pine Ridge Mbarara Motor Club Challenge Rally.Speaking to Times Sport recently, Fitidis said, "I am keen to go for the Uganda national rally championship title, starting with the season opener, the Mbarara rally.”"Our target remains unchanged from last year, we want to vie for the title,” added the Belgium-born Fitidis, who tied for third place last season with former champion Susan "Super Lady’ Muwonge.Jas Mangat won the Mbarara rally last year and went on to also win the National Rally Championship title while Ronald Ssebuguzi finished second. Shafiq Ssemujju (Subaru N11), Fred Wampamba (Subaru N10), Dr Ashraf Ahmed (Subaru N8), Leila Mayanja (Evo4), Edson Mungyereza (Subaru) and John Consta (Subaru N10) are some of the 20 drivers who have so far registered for the season opener.In 2011, Muwonge beat Ponsiano Lwakataka in the 300km Independence rally at the Festino City Race Circuit, to become the first lady to hold the Uganda NRC crown.
