Government support and strategy that promotes a favourable business environment has boosted enterprise growth in Rwanda, a major international transport firm said.Patrick Katayi, the Bollore Africa Logistics zonal managing director, noted that the conducive business climate has enabled the company to increase operations in Rwanda.Katayi was speaking at a function, where SDV TRANSAMI, an international transport company, rebranded to Bollore Africa Logistics Rwanda in Kigali on Friday.He said the firm changed its brand name to ensure that it is easily identified by clients across the world."Since 1965 to 2003, the company has been known by various names in different countries. ‘‘However, this year we decided on a name that will give us a uniform identity worldwide,” he said of the firm that operates in over 100 countries.Bollore operates an air, railway and sea, plus road transport system globally."Bollore Africa Logistics handles the Africa division, uniting all its activities on the continent and in countries that have commercial relations with the continent, especially Australia, China, Dubai, Spain, USA, UK and India,” Katayi said.He explained that the group would invest more in infrastructure development, where it has so far spent 300m euros (about Rwf261b).The company’s zonal operations cover Uganda, South Sudan, Rwanda, Burundi and the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.
