Rwanda won the first game against host Algeria 3-1 (20-25, 25-20, 25-21, 25-23) but lost the other two against Tunisia 3-0 and Egypt 3-0 (25-20, 25-13, and 25-22) respectively.Egypt won the gold medal while Tunisia came on second and hosts Algeria were fourth in the four-team tournament.All four teams qualified for the 2013 Boys Youth FIVB Championships slated for later this year in Mexico.This comes after ten Africa countries withdrew from the CAVB championships qualifiers, allowing four teams to automatically qualify for the world meet.According to the Africa Volleyball Confederation officials, Africa is allocated four places at the FIVB Youth Championships.After Friday’s matches, coach Jean Marie Nsengiyumva hailed his team’s performances despite the loss."It has been a big learning curve for the boys since this was their first international competition, it’s good for experience,” said the Kigali Volleyball Club coach.Sylvestre Ndayisabye was named best server in the tournament.Final standingsEgyptTunisiaRwandaAlgeria
