The women’s category, at the qualifiers stage, is being played on a round robin format, and the Kenyans, with an unbeaten run of three straight wins, are favourites to qualify for the Africa Cup after.In the men’s category, action continues today with the champions Rwanda taking on surprise package Somalia in the semi final clash. The Somalia National basketball team continued with their dominance in the pool B by beating Burundi 98-80 on Wednesday to finish on top of the group after two wins from two matches.Somalia upset Kenya on Tuesday with an 81-79 win. Somalia has 4 points from the two wins while Kenya has 3 points after they beat Burundi 71-63. Burundi remain rooted at the bottom with 2 points after losing all its matches in the group stage.Rwanda beat hosts Tanzania 70-56 to reach the semi final stage. They finished second with five points, two behind leaders Egypt, while Uganda is in third spot with Tanzania coming last.Group B had Kenya, Somalia and Burundi, while pool A had hosts Tanzania, Uganda, Egypt and Rwanda. The African Nations Cup will be held in DRC in August 2013.
