Dear Editor,Reference is made to the article, "MPs, donors meet over budget review,” that appeared in The New Times of January 22, 2013. The story of the West’s behaviour towards poor countries is indeed interesting. Now, people have issues to do with economic crisis in their own countries and while they want it addressed, they feel proud enough to implicate Rwanda in their own plight. Really, what is the link between UK’s economic crisis, cutting aid and the false allegations that the Rwanda government backs the M-23 rebel group in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Truth passes through fire but it does not burn up. I have began to realise that there is power in truth. Now that some officials from these Western countries have started making it clear that aid cut has nothing to do with Rwanda and the DR Congo conflict is a clear indication that the truth Rwanda has preached to the world is actually paying off. Let's stand by it (truth). It is a mighty weapon. Fred Murenzi, Kacyiru, Kigali-----------------------------------------So what? Pressure won’t do anything. Did they (donors) say they will unfreeze aid money? Well, as an American citizen, why my tax should fund another country’s public expenditures (even though I don’t dictate foreign policy in Washington DC)? Well... Rwandan Agaciro is probably the new way to go. In the meantime, the Rwandan Ministry of Finance should revise its 2013 projections and restructure public spending allocations. And reduce your expectations that other people will keep footing your bill... C.K, Petion-ville, Haiti
