Rwanda’s Noe Uwimana signs for Virginia Tech Hookies

Rwandan teenager Noe Uwimana has joined Virginia Tech Hookies FC from Philadelphia Union.

Uwimana, 18, penned a two-year deal with the club which is owned by Virginia Tech University as he continues his football development.

The contract will be active effective August 1, 2023 when the US mid-season transfer window opens.

Uwimana started his career with Richmond Academy before joining Philadelphia Union in February 2021 where he has progressed through their U19.

Born in the US to a Rwandan father and a Tunisian mother, the youngster was invited last month for Rwanda's AFCON qualifier against Mozambique but withdrew from the camp following an injury he suffered during the national team training.
