APR was too classy for its foes Kigali Volleyball Club on Sunday as they cruised to their fourth phase win in the revamped Coca-cola league.

The reigning champions registered a 3-1 victory against KVC who had been tipped to halt the latter’s run after a thrilling 3-2 phase four win.

Despite a strong fight back in the third set, Jean-Marie Nsengiyumva’s KVC couldn’t hold onto it as APR went on to seal the game with a fourth set win to avert KVC’s pressure.

"I’m proud of the guys. They were under pressure but still went on to play so well. We came into this game with only one intention-winning and that’s what we did,” Ndayikengurukiye acknowledged.

Sunday’s win kept APR’s hopes of retaining the title intact after widening their lead by 60 points. In the ladies’ category, Rwanda National University (UNR) registered their first phase win in style following a straight sets’ victory over table leaders APEDI Rwaza.
