RWANDA’S FIFA/CAF assistant referee Felicien Kabanda is set to officiate tonight’s South Africa’s opening Africa Cup of Nations match against Cape Verde Islands at the National Stadium in Johannesburg.Kabanda alongside assistant referee Yeo Songuifolo(Cote d’Ivoire), main referee Haimoud Djamel (Algeria), and fourth referee Doue Noumandiez Desiré(Cote d’Ivoire) will handle the first match of the 2013 tournament.Kabanda was selected after passing the prerequisite CAF Referees Elite course for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations which was held in Egypt early this month.In 2011, he officiated at the second edition of Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) finals held in Sudan and was again picked by CAF to handle Africa U-17 championship, held in Kigali.
