Amavubi Coach Tucak Blanko has praised his players for breaking the North Africans unbeaten jinx over east African teams’ by recording a 3-1 victory over Morocco in an African Nations Cup qualifier played at Nyamirambo stadium on Saturday.

Amavubi Coach Tucak Blanko has praised his players for breaking the North Africans unbeaten jinx over east African teams’ by recording a 3-1 victory over Morocco in an African Nations Cup qualifier played at Nyamirambo stadium on Saturday.

The Croat who is on the verge of repeating the heroics of Ratomir Dujkovic who guided Rwanda to their maiden Nations Cup in 2004, said that defeating Morocco is one really things which shows that everything is possible in football.

"This game was a difficult game most especially when Eric Gasana was sent off, but determined and confident players showed where they deserved to be.”

"It is no surprise that Rwanda has defeated an African giant while displaying good football and leading in ball possession,” Blanko said.

Blanko further added that every player deserves to be praised for the work hard done in acquiring this much needed victory over the Atlas Lions.

"The players could not have made us proud without the country’s support. I thank every body for their support because being in the stands instilled confidence in the team.”

"This is time for joy ahead of the preparations for the second leg tie due in seven days in Casablanca,” Blanko added.

Amavubi Stars who were given a day off yesterday resume preparations for Morocco return leg this afternoon at Remera grounds.

Said Abedi Makasi,Labama Bokota Kamana and Olivier Karekezi were on target.

Rwanda took lead of group eight with nine points from three fixtures played so far.

Morocco settles for second position with six points while Ethiopia comes third with three points after winning away in Mauritania 1-0 on Friday.
