A swimsuit is the one of the most loved and hated items for any woman to shop for. But whether you are tall or short, big or little – there will always be a swimsuit that makes you look spectacular! There are six strong trends in swimwear: most with color. So stay away from your boring black bikini or one-piece, and make sure to brighten up your look. Whether you’re off to Lake Kivu for a dip, hitting the pools in Kigali, or have an exotic vacation coming up: staying trendy in swimwear is sure to keep you looking gorgeous. The Monokini: A monokini is a one piece bathing suit with cut out sides: making it appear to look like a two piece bikini. The cut-out one piece style is a favorite among the stars. Fans like hotel heiress Paris Hilton, Victoria’s Secret model AlassandraAmbrosio and hip-hop artist Rihanna enjoy the non-traditional take on swimwear. Retro-Inspired: Vintage appearing swimsuits are a way to stay on trend while still being classy. Many of the styles involve more tasteful cuts, and often lots of ruching to look like Marilyn Monroe’s famous bathing suit. This trend is flattering for bigger set women, and looks especially great in red! Neon-Prints: Falling in line with the neon clothingtrend, the neon swimsuit trend is one of the best of the season! It is a sure way to get noticed in the water. American actress and girlfriend of Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, just stepped out on the beach in a neon orange top and neon aqua bottoms. Embellishments: Swimsuits with embellishments are over the top beautiful. Sometimes the embellishment is with an African vibe with hand-sewn beads, sometimes the embellishment is with mountains of ruffles, and sometimes with American Western fringe! This is a great way to go for the more fashion adventurous. Animal Print: Animal print swimwear, like the patterns of a tiger, zebra or cheetah, is a great way to spice up your swim collection. An especially popular take on this trend this season, is to wear the print in non-traditional colors, like pink or blue. Floral: Floral is a trend that is almost always "in” for swim collections,it is a wonderful way to bring nature into clothing. However this season, think macro-florals. The flowers should be as big as the palm of your hand, like in American actress and model Tara Reid’s most recent beach outing. That’s the fashion scoop for this week. Got a thought? Trend? Style you hate? Send it my way.
