ATTENDING a wedding alone? Isn’t that depressing? Does it not make one feel out of place? Does it not go against the very idea of marriage in the first place? Well, the good news is that the answer is a "No.”There is nothing to worry about going to a friend’s or relative’s wedding without a partner. There are numerous people who attend weddings by themselves every weekend. Really, it’s all about the mindset that you carry with you to the wedding venue. To a great extent, your enjoyment at a wedding depends on your perception. For example, if you go to a wedding with a happy mindset and to look forward to loads of fun and laughter, you are likely to enjoy the wedding that way. You will get to catch up with long lost friend and together loose yourselves to dance, drinks and sumptuous food. On the other hand, if you think of it as a burden on your shoulders, you will never be able to enjoy your day despite all the fun surrounding you. So, first change your perspective and go with a positive mindset to enjoy yourself.Keep an eye on the guest listAsk about the expected invitees from people you know. Find out if there are those who can be great company during the dances and drinks. Once you identify a few such people, contact them and make plans with them about attending the wedding together. You can go with one or two friends. If it is okay with the rest, you can plan to color-coordinate your party attire for that added party feeling. This is the perfect time to shoot some priceless pictures you’re your friends. When you go with such an open mindset, you will find many fun moments waiting for you at the wedding. You never know, you may like someone in the wedding, good enough for you to chase the relationship further.Pamper yourself beforehandPrepare yourself well before setting off. The idea is to look good and feel confident about your looks. The ladies can go for a facial or a massage and can splurge on a new outfit or a new set of earrings. For that matter any purchase appropriate for the occasion should be bought – may be a new pair of shoes that match well with your party dress or a new tiara to compliment your new gown. Once you look good and feel good, it ceases to matter whether you enter the wedding single or marked. There will be many people in the wedding who will be impressed with your confident and well groomed appearance and will do all within their means to get close to you.Enjoy your drinks but do not let them rule youTrue, you went to this wedding in part to enjoy drinks with friends, but this does not mean that you rush straight away to the bar and make it the sole aim of your evening to drink as much as possible. Just drink one or two shots to calm down your nerves amidst the strangers, then move around and try to make friends. Drinks should be a medium to mix up well with people, not something to keep you away from them. Do not lament about your single statusAvoid attracting sympathy and negative attention from strangers by bemoaning the fact that you are still single and have come to attend a wedding as a singleton. Instead, view your single status as a great opportunity to be yourself and enjoy your own company completely. As a good looking person, when you will be enjoying drinks, dance and food by yourself, chances are that your coupled friends will feel jealous of you at least once. Above all, show all possible happiness for your friend who is getting wedded without coming across as jealous or sad. Enjoy!
