Having been beaten to last year’s title by APR, Police came into this season as the team likely to gate crash APR’s dominance, however teams like SC Kiyovu, AS Kigali and Rayon Sports have thrown the spanner in the works. "You can say we are only one of many teams in contention for the league title because we have a good team which can compete with any one. We are making good progress in each game and this gives me hope for a bright future,” said Police’s head coach Goran Kuponovic.Last week, Police FC lost four officials in a fatal road accident.  Following the accident, the game between Police FC and Espoire FC was called off but Police recovered from the shock to beat Amagaju 3-0 in mid week. "I am glad that the players understand my philosophy and the style in which I want them to play. It’s not going to be easy against AS Kigali, who are riding high this season and are one of the teams in race foe the title,” the Serb told Times Sport on Friday.AS Kigali coach Andrew ‘Casa’ Gasambongo admits his team may be the surprise package among the leading pack but they will not take the foot off the pedal  for as long as possible.Asked how he feels about his team being written off by critics in the race for the title, the former SEC Academy coach said, "It doesn’t bother me at all, all we’re focused on is to finish as high as possible in the league.”"Getting three points on Saturday is crucial in our bid to stay in the race. It’s very important that we don’t lose focus because we’re facing one of our closest rivals,” he noted.Elsewhere, the champions APR will go into their clash with struggling Etinceles at Umuganda stadium hoping for a routine three points, while the league leaders SC Kiyovu have a tricky fixture against newly promoted Musanze FC, who sit comfortable in mid table.
