Kalisa ready to fight for place in TP Mazembe

MAO Kalisa, also known as Kasongo Kabiona has vowed to fight for a starting place after signing a two year-deal for Tout Puissant Mazembe.

MAO Kalisa, also known as Kasongo Kabiona has vowed to fight for a starting place after signing a two year-deal for Tout Puissant Mazembe.The Rwandan international joined the Democratic Republic of Congo champions in November for an undisclosed fee and he hopes to force his way into the starting team.The full back signed under a different name Kasongo Kabiona from rivals DC Motema Pembe.However, the Amavubi defender knows it will not be easy to get into the first team but is ready for the challenge."The competition for this position will be a great challenge. I lost the entire last season without playing. So I have to work hard in training to get to the highest level, and I am excited to join such big club,” the former DC Virunga, V. Club, Rayon Sports and APR player told DRC media.."I am happy for joining this club and I will fight for my place because it is the only way I will get the chance to play again for national team,” he was quoted in the Congolese press.The 30-year old defender missed the whole of last season following a dispute between Virunga and Motema Pembe over his ownership but has since been resolved, which allowed him to join the former African champions.The versatile defender, was born in DR Congo but switched nationality to play for Rwanda under the name Mao Kalisa.
