GTV, a British-based pay-per-view broadcasting company, on Wednesday awarded the winners of  last season’s English Premier League predict and win competition.

"Viewers were asked different questions about the English Premier League as it was the entry point for the competitions,” said GTV’s country manager Steven Kinuka Baguma.

Baguma noted that their major intention for initiating such a competition was away of paying back to their estimated clients. He further acknowledged that the company has had an overwhelming response from the Rwandan market.

Accordingly, Rwanda had the highest SMS responses in the whole of Africa, with a total of five winners.

"This is a positive move to keep Rwandans updated on soccer, given the fact a big percentage of Rwandans are soccer fans,” said the public relations officer of Impact Africa Pacific Nzamwita, a company that organized the competition on behalf of GTV. The function was held at its offices at the MTN center in Nyarutarama, a suburb of Kigali city.

Gatete Fabrice, 28, was announced the best winner of the competitions and walked with a GTV fully connected kit prize while the first runner-up, Gasangwa Varience was given the prize of a fully connected Nokia mobile phone with the airtime worth $10.

"I’m so happy but surprised for winning the prizes, because I never expected to win. I joined the competitions jokingly but I promise to be participating in all competitions because you never know what God has planed for you,” an excited Gatete stated.
