After finishing 2012 on a good note, long-distance runner Robert Kajuga is stepping up preparations ahead of the 2013 40th IAAF World Cross Country Championships scheduled in Polish city of Bydgoszcz.Speaking to Times Sport recently, Kajuga said, "The next mission now is to gear up for the next World Cross-country championship. I started preparations in December competing in Bugesera cross country championship.”"I am eager to storm the podium and this is why I am embarking on intensive and early preparations so I can be in good form ready to take on elite athletes,” added Kajuga.The SEC Academy runner used 57 minutes, 12 seconds and 68 micro-seconds to win the 20km de Kigali event last weekend.This was the fourth event Kajuga won this year. In January, he won the Kimisagara national championship, then the Kicukiro cross-country championship in February, and Bugesera cross country championship in early December.The decision to award the 40th edition of these championships to Bydgoszcz, which hosted the IAAF World Athletics Series event in 2010, was unanimously supported by the IAAF Council, and followed a meeting in Monaco on May 3.The 2013 IAAF World Cross Country Championships will take place on Sunday, March 24, 2013.”Bydgoszcz has been a superb organiser of IAAF World Athletics Series events from the inaugural World Youth Championships in 1999 through to the 2008 World Junior Championships and, most recently, last year’s World Cross Country Championships,” IAAF President Lamine Diack said in press release.
