German state secretary lauds Ruhango

RUHANGO — The German State Secretary of Rhineland Palatinate Province has commended the residents of Ruhango district for effectively utilizing the financial support received from the Federal Republic of Germany.

Roger Lewentz, made the remarks on Wednesday during his tour to some of the projects sponsored by the Rhineland Palatinate residents.

Lewetz was accompanied by his wife, Lene Lewetz, with 14 officials from the German state. The Mayor of Ruhango, François Byabarumwanzi and districts officials guided the visiting German entourage through the district’s developments.

"It is very exciting to see that Rwandans have used the funds effectively and put up infrastructure suitable for development. I will let the people of Rhineland Palatinate know that their support has benefited the Rwandan community,” the state secretary said.

Lewetz also addressed pupils at Rubona Primary School and shared various gifts, language skills and jokes with the pupils. He urged the pupils to utilize their time at school and said that education is the most important gift to a child.

"A child is a great gift and it is important that every child is sent to school. Parents should be proud of having such beautiful children,” Lewetz said.

Lewetz and his team also visited different projects supported by residents of Rhineland Palatinate.

About Frw800 millions has been injected in helping the people of Ruhango through bilateral relationships with some of the districts in the German state, according to the Mayor.
