Ambassadors during their Serena launch. The New Times / Dennis Ndemo

The flyers, posters and even the burners informed many far and near of an event that was seen by many as the peak of this year`s entertainment. And yes it was! No doubt they were dual days of a thousand tunes andloves. The big and the small thronged the Serena Hotel on Saturday and the Remera S.D.A Church Tuesday afternoon to witness the launch of Ambassadors of Christ gospel choir`s eighth album, and to unveil their Junior Ambassador choir,  respectively. The events were on point and nothing was left hanging; from the sound system, the lighting and the stage set all cut fit to suit the events of the days. As the darkness slowly filtered the light of the day, the hall filled with somewhat anxious faces unaware of what the evening had for them. At Remera, the Christmas afternoon plan was already given to those who had none.  The hand of the clock wiped gracefully, so were the smiles on the fans of the great choir. Israel Mugisha and Maranatha choir jump started both the events by their presentations’ that seemed like the climaxes. Songs upon songs caressed many souls as everyone in the two events was glued tight at the edge of their sit; the short ones trying to stretch to have a clear sight of the choirs. Then the moment came and a surprise was cooking.Clad in chocolate brown long skirts suits and a baby yellow top for ladies and a similar match for the men but with long thin chocolate brown ties, the senior Ambassador choir rose from their sits to take to the stage; smiles smeared on their faces. At Remera, the Junior Ambassador in the same formula but in well fitted and skillfully designed, long straight maroon satin dresses, gave the stage both beauty and power of music. The accompaniment oozing from the background gave the whole scenario a unique touch, a touch of what music is all about. Music made in Rwanda but goes beyond for purposes of praise of the Creator. The mellow voices vibrated tactfully from their strong lungs and stole into the watching fans. Some mesmerised, others excited, while others mastered their emotions by letting them flow freely.  At the end of the two super events, speakers heaped praises on both the senior and junior choirs when the time for fans came to respond. Notably was Danford Shima, a gentleman from Dar-es salaam Tanzania who came for the concert. "Iam pleased to be part of this success; in my country Tanzania, Ambassadors is loved so much and my family and I love them too,” he pointed out. Joseph Mbabazi a bass singer in the choir, expressed his satisfaction on the events saying, "It is God`s mercy that has brought us this far and we are grateful,  has been a success”. Finally the group`s chairman Rueben Muvunyi thanked all the fans for showing  up and giving them the necessary support that had propelled the group this far. "God bless you”. he said. The Serena and Remera events attracted people from all over East Africa. For sure they were dual moments of a thousand loves and tunes!
