Burundian import Laudit Mavugo scored the game’s solitary goal against the defending champions at Amahoro National Stadium to take the summit of the Primus National Football League standings.APR, who were missing Emery Bayisenge, Ismail Nshutiyamagara and Jacques Cyubahiro, and coach Eric Nshimiyimana who is serving one-match suspension, showed no signs of winning. Poor coordination at the back helped Mavugo to score AS Kigali’s goal in the first minute when Jean Claude Iranzi failed to hold onto an unexpected pass from Eric Nsabimana and the former Police marksman made no mistake to strike past Jean Claude Ndoli who had not fully covered his area. APR tried to get back into the game but wasted many goal attempts from Barnabe Mubumbyi, Farouk Ruhinda and Jean Claude Iranzi. With AS Kigali utilising their lone opportunity, they resorted to playing a defensive game even though it never stopped APR from making aggressive strikes which could only go off target.APR got two good chances towards the end of the game when Iranzi, who was left with the goalie,  failed to convert Jean Baptista Mugiraneza’s set-piece.  He also drove a sharp shot deep inside the midfield but had no luck as his attempt went inches off the cross bar.The victory sees the Kigali City-sponsored move to 21 points, two ahead of second and third-placed Police and SC Kiyovu. APR dropped to sixth slot with 16 points.Police was forced to a one-all draw by Musanze at Kicukiro turf, while Isonga held SC Kiyovu to a goalless draw at Stade de Kigali. Rayon Sport thrashed Etincelles 3-2 at Muhanga stadium to move to seventh position with 15 points in nine matches played.Marines recorded their second win of the season after a 2-1 win over Espoir at Umuganda stadium. At Kamena, Mukura beat AS Muhanga 2-0 to move to tenth position with 11 points while La Jeunesse ascended to fifth position with 18 points following a 3-2 win over Amagaju at Mumena stadium. The only game scheduled before the end of the year will APR take on Rayon Sport in a league fixture which was never played on time. The match will be played on December 30 at Amahoro stadium.
