I was very surprised to see how bold a thief can be in broad day light. On Saturday 7th June I went to City Valley Hotel near Nyabugogo to have lunch.

On payment of my bill however the waiter presented a bill that was higher than the usual. As a prominent customer I imagined that the prices had increased and was almost convinced since he actually presented a receipt. 

However on my way out I reconfirmed with the menu only to realise that I had been over charged! The waiter’s reaction was no different from a thief’s.

In fact he simply gave back the extra amount I had paid earlier without a genuine explanation as to why he had overcharged me in the first place. I urge everyone to be careful when clearing bills in restaurants and hotels.
