Dear editor,
I am almost very certain that a big number of Rwandans have received congratulatory messages through the short message service (SMS) phone system that claim victory for winning Safaricom money.
I have as well received the same messages, time and again. These messages go ahead to request the recipient to call (+254) Kenyan numbers. My advice to fellow Rwandans is to ignore the instructions they send.
Such messages are even sent to people who have never tried to enter into any lottery draws. It is important to note the senders’ aim is only to find ways of stealing money from the victims’ account numbers.
I also think Safaricom should let the public know if at all it is involved in this plan or not! East African Breweries is also used in these messages.
