Editor,Now I do not need to remind anyone that we are in the festive season – once again. In this part of the world Christmas is everything, even none Christians celebrate it.Christmas is more than just a religious celebration, it’s about exchanging gifts, showing love and care to those you value most, visiting and catching up with old friends and reuniting with family.Christmas is basically about merrymaking. I wish to encourage everyone to feel appreciated and valued during this festive season, and may the New Year find you all in good health. Merry Christmas to you all.Peter Nyombi, Kigali---------------------------------------Editor,I wish The New Times’ readers Merry Christmas and a fulfilling year of 2013. May we all evaluate ourselves and scrutinise our spiritual life as we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ ahead of the New Year. These days there is a lot of speculation about the end of the world, the Apocalypse. Some people had predicted the world would come to an end on December 21. Well the day came and passed, but you could feel anxiety all over. The solution is for us to purify ourselves spiritually because no one knows the exact date when Jesus Christ will return to take his people. But if we return to God and follow his commands then we wouldn’t panic every time there is speculation about Apocalypse. This Christmas and festive season is a perfect opportunity for us to draw closer to God.Happy holidays to you all.Genevivie Mukarwego, Rwamagana
