Police advises students on how to fight crime

GICUMBI — The Director of Community Policing (CP) in the Rwanda, Emmanuel Butera has advised students of Groupe Scolaire de La Salle of Byumba Sector in Gicumbi distrct to form anti- crime clubs.

Butera who is also the National Police Chief Superintendent told students on Tuesday that, "Anti-crime clubs help maintain Security in schools and the surrounding areas.”

Butera advised the students to desist from fuelling genocide ideology. He said this can be done by using the anti-crime club headed by the School headmaster.

He adviced that these kinds of clubs can help coordinate security related issues with local Authorities and the Police. He further said community Policing has helped to reduce the rate of crimes in both developed and developing countries.
