Angola     1-0     RwandaTanzania     1-0     ZambiaSouth Africa     3-1     MalawiAngola ended their 2013 Afcon preparations in style with a 1-0 win over Amavubi in an international friendly match played last night at 11th November National Stadium in Luanda, Angola. A Mingo Bile goal 23 minutes before the break was enough to secure a win for Angola.  Bille, a defensive midfielder with Angola’s Agosto, scored the lone goal when he shot a strong and quick shot from deep in the midfield past Amavubi’s shaky defense, leaving APR custodian Jean Claude Ndoli lying on the ground. The first half was dominated by Angola and Amavubi failed to create any clear-cut chances. The team’s Michelle Rusheshangoga and Jean Baptista Mugiraneza also suffered first half injuries.The second half was just as frustrating, Amavubi failing to convert some of the chances gained despite dominating the game after recess.Amavubi pressed hard in the dying minutes and they did have occasional late chances, but Angola defended immensely to hold out for a well-earned victory.Amavubi will embark on the World Cup qualifiers in March next year when they face Mali, Algeria and Benin. Amavubi have never qualified for the World Cup finals and are poorly placed in Group H. They sit bottom of the table with one point, three adrift of leaders Benin.Angola head to South Africa in January for the CAN 2013 finals. They are in Group A alongside South Africa, Cape Verde and Morocco.In other matches, two first half goals from Lehlohonolo Majoro and Siphiwe Tshabalala, and a second half May Mahlangu penalty helped Bafana Bafana to a 3-1 victory over Malawi at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.The victory was coach Gordon Igesund’s third from his six games in charge, and served as vital preparation ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations tournament in January next year.Bafana headed into the clash looking to get back to winning ways, after the national outfit were defeated 1-0 by Zambia on November 14, in the Nelson Mandela Challenge at the FNB Stadium.
