Premier Model Competition finalists selected

TWENTY four finalists for this year’s Rwanda Premier Model finale were selected on Sunday. The selection exercise took place at Amahoro Stadium.The final competition slated for 28th this month at Gikondo Expo Grounds will feature  twelve females out of the 24 finalists.The screening exercise that identified the best models out of the forty who had managed to get the second phase of the competition was tight compared to the first one.Training to prepare the twenty four is on at Amahoro National Stadium. The training will take at least ten days, and contestants are expected to build on their skills to make the final competition more competitive."It has not been an easy task, but I’m glad that I finally managed to be among the best; and this actually gives me hope that I might even win the finals,” said Sandrine Umutoni, one of the models who were selected. Another contestant who also managed to go through, Olivie Muvunyi, said that the expectations were not high based on the phase the competition had reached.Judges who spoke to The New Times said the finalists have the skills and any one of them can win the final competition. "It was a hard task for us to get the best among these forty contestants, and this is because of their good performance,” said Fabrice Birangira, one of the judges.Jean Claude Ndayishimiye, CEO of Premier Model Agency, the organiser of the competition commended the efforts of the contestants in making the contest interesting and competitive. He called on the public to embrace and support young talent. The winner of this year’s edition of Rwanda’s Premier Model will take home a one million cash prize and an assortment of other  luxury prizes.
