Indorwa Cricket Club kept their title hope alive after knocking out Challengers Cricket Club to reach the finals of this year’s SulfoCricket League. Challengers Cricket Club won the toss and elected to bat. Challengers hopes of putting a big score faltered after good opening partnership between Subhasis Samal and Sairam Gopalan. They put on 45 runs in six overs, the wickets started to fall in quick succession due to tight bowling by the Indorwa bowlers Eric Dusabemungu, Mihir Solanki, Lalith Panjwani and VinitChauhan who took three wickets.Evode Mutuyimana was the only Challengers batsmen who kept fighting until the end. He scored 29 runs and played 32 overs, Challengers were bowled out for a paltry142 runs in 35 overs. Indorwa displayed perfect discipline in bowling and their fielding was outstanding. Indorwa commenced the chase of below par score in a shaky manner, as they kept losing wickets in regular interval. The first session belonged to Challengers with Indorwa struggling at 65 for five Wickets and this was due to exceptional bowling by Subhasis Samal, who took three wickets for 25 runs in his 10 overs spell. Lalith Panjwani the in-form batsman of Indorwa, again came to his side’s rescue winning innings of 53 runs not out. Dugout Cricket Club and Indorwa Cricket Club will be looking to lift their maiden Sulfo Cricket League Cup as both teams have never won it before. So far Kigali Cricket Club has won four times; Challengers Cricket Club three times, Young Tigers Cricket Club once and Right Guards Cricket Club once. This is the tenth Edition of Sulfo Cricket League.
