Over 400 members of Kenyan community living in Rwanda are the latest to contribute to Agaciro development fund with Rwf4.1 million. The contribution was announced on Saturday at the association’s end of year party in Kigali. The chairperson of the association Boniface Mutua said the contribution was raised willingly to show their support to Rwanda’s nation building."We wanted to hand over our collection for Agaciro development fund and we have done that today. We are happy with the idea of Agaciro development fund and sovereignty of this nation and Africans in general. It is not different from our motto because we intend to be a part of this society and help where we can,” said Mutuwa. He observed that the idea of Agaciro development fund is worth adopting by other African countries. "For other nationalities I encourage them to understand Agaciro fund as a lesson in the region that we need to learn and take back home in our countries,” he said."The message we got from the representative from the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning is that what is more important is the spirit with which we contribute more than how much we have collected,” Mutua added.Association members said that they are willing to keep contributing as the fund grows. The fund, which was launched in August, is aimed at supplementing the conventional sources of revenues for the government to be able to implement targeted projects. The fund has grossed close to RWF 26 billion.
