YesterdayRayon Sport 2-0 SC VillaTuesday, FinalAPR vs Rayon SportsSIX-TIME league champions Rayon Sports set up a hair-raising final against traditional rivals APR when they beat Ugandan side SC Villa 2-0 in a highly entertaining match played at Stade de Kigali on Sunday.DR Congo born striker Kambale Salita, commonly known as Papy Kamanzi, opened the scoring on 44th minute when his header gave the Jogoo goalie Ochan Benjamin no chance and the home side doubled their lead on 90th minute when Amissi Cedrick’s ball went in off the post.The blues dominated the game, with numerous goal-scoring opportunities.Striker Salita opened the scoring when he easily headed a sharp cross from Abouba Sibomana into Ochan’s empty net.The blues would have easily won the game with a bigger margin when striker Jerome Sina’s shot from inside the box sailed wide of Ochan’s left-hand post and out for a goal kick.Amissi and Fuadi Ndayisenga had their attempts halted by impressive Ochan in the stands, while defender Daniel Segawa saved a raring Salita’s strike off the goal line.Shortly after the restart, Amissi had another golden opportunity–this time forcing Villa  goalkeeper Ochan into a splendid save with a firm shot from near the penalty spot.Sina had another clear goal scoring chance denied by a wood work after dribbling past Constatine Nalumoso and goalie Ochan.The Kampala club pressed forward with attempts from Allan Kiiza and Godfrey Sembatya but the equaliser never came, and on 90th minute, they were instead hit on the counterattack with Rayon right full back Karim Nizigiyimana breaking through Villa’s defence to chip the ball towards Amissi who never faltered, sending Ochan the wrong way.The blues will face APR in the final of RPF 25th anniversary footballl tournament due on Tuesday at Stade Amahoro.APR reached the final after mauling Burundian side Vital’O 2-0, courtesy of stunning goals from Jean Claude Iranzi and Tumaine Ntamuhanga, on Saturday.SC Villa will take on Vital’o earlier in the day for the third place battle.The winner will walk away with US$10,000 (about Rwf6.3m) on top of the trophy while  first runner-up will get US$7,000 [Rwf. 4.4m] US$5,000 [Rwf. 3.1] is reserved for third placed team, while the fourth will receive US$3,000 [Rwf. 1.9].
