Wishing RPF a happy anniversary

Editor,I am looking forward to December 20 when the Rwanda Patriotic Front will be celebrating its Silver Jubilee. Its 25 years since the RPF was created by the Rwandan Diaspora, with the main purpose of repatriating Rwandan refugees, liberate those who were in the country from a tyrant, promote justice and equality, as well as transform the country economically.

Editor,I am looking forward to December 20 when the Rwanda Patriotic Front will be celebrating its Silver Jubilee. Its 25 years since the RPF was created by the Rwandan Diaspora, with the main purpose of repatriating Rwandan refugees, liberate those who were in the country from a tyrant, promote justice and equality, as well as transform the country economically.Today, I can confidently say that the RPF has achieved most of its objectives, and is on course to liberating the country from poverty. One million people who have been lifted above the poverty line over the last five years is no mean feat.Through homegrown initiatives such as Gacaca, Agaciro, Ubudehe, Mutuelle de Sante and Girinka, the RPF is inspiring millions of Rwandans to work harder and to rely on no one else but themselves to develop their own country.Needless to say over the past 18 years of RPF leadership Rwanda has changed quite a lot. While I do recognize that the journey is still long, there is no doubt that we will achieve whatever we have set our sights on.Long live RPF, long live Rwanda.
