RWANDA’s volleyball team head coach Paul Bitok is planning to host boys and girls’ youth and junior tournaments in Rwanda in July next year.The tournament will be organised to help give exposure and experience to young talented players. Bitok runs the same tournament in Kenya annually."I am trying to organise a tournament that will give a chance to our young players to exhibit their talent. I know we have good players and all we need is to give them a platform such that they can improve on their skills by being competitive.”"I will organise the competition for junior and the youth in country next year in July and if I get sponsors on board, I would wish it becomes an annual tourney,” he added.Bitok runs the Paul Bitok Foundation in Kenya which promotes Kenyan players. This year, Bitok won the ‘Community Hero’ Sportsman of the Year award in his native Kenya.The former Kenya national volleyball coach, started the foundation which has helped nurture talent and help propel many volleyball players and athletes to the international level.Some of the key players that have risen from his foundation include; Philip Maiyo [Bulgaria], Philister Mutembete, Rachel Rotich, Susan Atemba and Philster Jebet, all playing in USA, Mercy Moim and L Tarus of Prisons, and GSU’s Elphonse Biwot.
