Over 400 entities will be showcasing their businesses and products at the Prosperity trade fair which kicked off yesterday. The exhibition, which started yesterday, is in honour and celebration of the achievements the Rwanda Patriotic Front (RPF) has registered over the last 25 years.RPF will celebrate its silver Jubilee on December 20. The exhibitors will jointly showcase and reflect the achievements made in Rwanda during the 18 years of RPF leadership. Faustin Mbundu, the chairman of the Rwanda Private Sector Federation, said that the first prosperity expo of its kind will mainly attract the local business community. He stated that the business community in Rwanda will be showcasing their products and services during this trade fair. He attributed the achievements to RPF’s good governance."The Rwanda Patriotic Front has opened its doors to the business community and created a favourable business environment for businesses to thrive. During this exhibition, we shall have a chance to see the different business initiatives in Rwanda and mostly by Rwandans,” he said.Mbundu added that the RPF has given business owners security, working space and, therefore, businesses in Rwanda are flourishing, an attribute of RPF’s good leadership.Francoise Ngarambe, the Secretary General of RPF, said that RPF can’t celebrate its silver jubilee without recognising the role of the business community in Rwanda. He noted that investors and entrepreneurs are the backbone of the country’s growing economy and therefore have to be celebrated."We can’t uphold our dignity as Rwandans if we are always going to rely on other countries. With good governance, self worth and hard work, Rwanda will continue growing and developing even economically. If we maintain our values and good governance, even our businesses shall flourish,” he said.Ngarambe urged Rwandans to therefore keep their self worth and make good use of the country’s favorable business environment to improve their livelihoods and build the nation. The Prosperity Expo, which has attracted different businesses including ICT, telecommunication companies, artisans and banks will run through December 18.
