It was an exciting evening that offered something special to meat-eaters and vegetarians alike.

Caiman bar and restaurant in Kibagabaga unveiled the face of the newly refurbished spot on Thursday.More than 50 people attended the re-launch, which gave guests a chance to sample an array of meat specialties and exotic dishes on the house.Guests were also treated to a cookery demonstration of the restaurant’s new menu—before having a chance to sample the specialty dishes. According to Julius Gakuya, the resident chef, the new Caiman experience allows people a chance to see how the food they eat is prepared.The refurbished restaurant, with a seating capacity of 200 has been restored, with original features. In addition to the overall re-design and refurbishment, a number of interesting items are displayed in the restaurant.Gakuya’s food showcased Brazilian cuisine and was served on sizzling plates. Commenting on the re-launch of the restaurant, Kanobana Rutembesa, the owner of Caiman Bar and Restaurant, said, "We are delighted so many people were able to join us for our re-launch event.”"We are very excited about the year ahead and I am confident that, with a new experienced chef and barman, Caiman will soon become known as one of the best places to eat in Kigali,” added Rutembesa.Caiman is open everyday. The joint started in 2007, with the aim of creating a new style of dining experience as well as boosting the country’s entertainment sector. Located in an amazing location offering an excellent view of Kigali city, the restaurant’s refurbishment and its new menu are designed to give guests a true flavour of their environment.
