In a major stride towards the advancement of aviation training, innovation, and research, the Rwanda Civil Aviation Authority (RCAA) has forged a crucial partnership with CAA International (CAAi), the renowned aviation training arm of the United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority.
The two entities solidified their collaboration by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), on Thursday, June 22. The primary objective of this partnership is to foster cooperation in areas of mutual interest and explore avenues for collaboration in the field of aviation.

The scope of the agreement encompasses various aspects including regulatory training, innovation, and research initiatives.
Silas Udahemuka, the Director General at Rwanda Civil Aviation Authority, said: "RCAA is pleased to partner with CAAi. CAAi has been a major contributor to the aviation industry in many areas including but not limited to training. We look forward to synergizing our efforts to further advance the global aviation industry."
The collaboration aims to tap into the creative potential of trainees, empowering them to play an instrumental role in driving modernization and innovation within the aviation industry. By equipping aviation professionals with the necessary skills and knowledge, the partnership seeks to bolster the growth and development of civil aviation, particularly in Rwanda and across Africa.
Silke Buckley, Head of Training and International Operations at CAA International, expressed enthusiasm regarding the MoU, stating, "We are delighted to sign this MoU with the Rwanda CAA and look forward to growing our partnership. Rwanda has become a key player in global aviation, especially within Africa. Together, by combining our efforts to deliver regulatory training, innovation, and research, we intend to support the development of civil aviation and upskill Africa 's aviation professionals and future leaders."
