AMAVUBI Stars and Yanga playmaker Haruna Niyonzima has agreed personal terms with Sudanese giants El Merreikh, Times Sport has learnt.According to a reliable source, the former Etincelles and Rayon Sport starlet has agreed a three-year deal and will reportedly be paid US$3000 (approx Rwf1.95m) per month. But the source said that Yanga has yet to agree anything with El Merreikh.Despite efforts by Times Sport, Haruna, 26, could not be reached on his known mobile phone for comment. This newspaper recently reported that Yanga officials have put a $75,000 (about Rwf48,750,000 million) price tag on the Rwandan international, but El Merreikh are still reluctant to fork out that sort of money for a player, who has just six months left on his current contract.Haruna joined Yanga two years ago from Primus national league champions APR FC in a two-year deal worth $30,000 (about Rwf17m) as a signing on fee and a monthly salary of USD 1500 (Rwf0.95m).The player has already hinted he’s prepared to quit Yanga.El-Merreikh is one of the oldest football clubs in Africa which has won the Sudanese Premier League title 18 times. Haruna will be the third Rwandan footballer to play in El Merreikh after striker Jean Lomami and Aloua Gaseruka, who featured for the club in recent years.Last month, Al-Merreikh was knocked out in the semi-final of the Caf Orange Confederation Cup by Congo Brazzaville’s Leopards.
