Dear editor,
It comes with good news that four of Rwanda’s athletes are going to participate in the AAC grand prix to be held in Kampala.

These are representatives in the sports section and full support should be given to them.

Sylvain Rukundo, Claudette Mukasakindi, Musa Bizimana, and Epiphanie Uwintije are the only athletes going.

This is great because they are professional and there ability to perform is exceptional.

I encourage more Rwandans to participate because there have a lot of potential as was displayed in the Kigali marathons recently.

The nature of the country’s landscape and weather is conducive to produce strong and capable runners as is the case with Ethiopia and Kenya.

The best runners come from highlands because the high altitudes increase the red blood cell count such that if they are in a more leveled ground they will always be faster than the rest.

The ministry of sports should start identifying and training potentials to encourage those who living in remote areas of the country to participate.

Both parties would benefit because the country gets the glory whenever there is victory.
