Merely half way the journey, Rwanda’s vision 2020 is already reaping. The current economic empowerment that majority of Rwandans have taken, gives a clear picture that the vision set by the Government is achievable.

Many citizens are fully engrossed in the trade of second hand goods that require the minimum amount a person can afford to start a micro business.

Without doubt, this is one of the many small businesses that have provided employment to the country’s nationals, incomes to families and basic necessities to the ordinary person who can hardly afford the inflated classic commodities in first class shops.

When the government set its vision to achieve by the year 2020, the war on poverty eradication was one of the priorities and education for all. This is real and can be achieved given the involvement of all citizens.

One area that needs to be strengthened and maintained is the determination that majority of Rwandans hold. This is affirmed by the mushrooming Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) that are almost in all sectors of development.

A developing mind needs more care and feeding with the right concepts and phenomena that govern life, than a fully developed one with the lures of the world.

Economic and human empowerment programmes that are focused on the country’s vision are tools that can boost the determined minds of our country.

Such programmes can boost nationals with the relevant knowledge needed to maximise savings, increase their incomes and think bigger for greater investments that create employment opportunities.

The same programmes can later address the global Millennium Development Goals of reducing child mortality, promoting gender equality and status of women, reducing hunger, putting more children in school and sustenance of the environment among others.

Integral development demands that all areas of life are tackled in a single whole. The mind of Rwandans that is so determined to beat the odds of life and advance toward success calls for such a boost.

Once taken advantage of, the current rate at which the country is advancing will help the determined Rwandans to succeed not in isolation but with the rest that are still lacking the determination.
