Here comes the weekend – again. What is on in and around Kigali? The function begins at 6.30p.m and it is free to the public. Film aficionados will have the chance to vote for their favorite filmmakers.From December 1-7, fiction and documentary films will be screened in the cities of Kigali, Gisenyi and Butare as well as rural communities in Bugesera, Nyaruguru and Gatsibo Districts. These screenings will include public debates in schools and community dialogues. The GBV film script competition and festival are a project of the Goethe-Institut, GIZ, Plan International Rwanda with Plan Germany, KfW and Partnership Rhineland-Palatinate.@ Liz BarWant to rub shoulders with Rwanda’s movie stars? Head to Liz Bar, located in the modern Nyarugenge market complex, tonight for the ‘Kigaliwood Party’. Kanyombya, Paul, Sonia, Ngenzi, Rwasa, VD Frank and Dada Cross are among the stars expected to be at the party. You are only required to pay Rwf2, 000 to attend the show. A free DVD of the movie, ‘Tuzibanira Part 2’ will be given to the guests. The party starts at 5p.m.Tomorrow, the bar will also host a party called, ‘Cheers Party’.Professional DJs Pius and Africa will help entertain guests with great music selections. Contestants will demonstrate their talent and prove they have the vocal ability, charisma and the stage presence it takes to win the competition.@ Amahoro Stadium (main parking lot)Jay Polly launches albumKing of Hip-Hop Jay Polly, will, tomorrow, launch his third album titled, Umwami Uganje, at the parking lot of Amahoro stadium. The rapper will be joined by a host of musicians, including Knowless, Urban Boys, Young Grace, Dream Boys, and his Tuff Gang crew.Entrance is Rwf2, 000 (ordinary section) and Rwf3, 000 (VIP).
